FedEx is supporting its driver who stopped mid-route to extinguish a burning American flag during a protest in Iowa City.
Matt Uhrin ran into a group of protestors on the Iowa City pedestrian mall who were protesting the current political stance by burning American flags. Grabbing a fire extinguisher from his van, he extinguished the flames but not before getting into a confrontation with protestors.
Video was filmed of him grabbing the flags from the protestors and people were outraged on both ends of the spectrum: his saving the flag and him invading a constitutional protest.
FedEx released a statement saying they reviewed the matter and he remains an employee and they have no plans to change his status.
