Snow Hits Charlotte, Dumps Inches of Snow in the Area

Winter Storm Inga is making her way through the Southeast bringing inches of snow in many areas around Charlotte.

Don't expect the weather to stay long as Thursday's high is mid-40s before heading into the 50s and 60s this weekend.

The band is sweeping from Texas to the Northeast and hitting the southern states as it moves.

Mecklenburg County will open an emergency shelter at the Grady Cole Center tonight and will close at Noon on January 18.
