
Garbage was one of the preeminent alternative bands of the 1990s. Over the past decade, however, they took multiple breaks from recording and touring. They say, according to an interview with Yahoo! Music, that they left to clear their heads.
The members of Garbage have done a lot of individual work. Most notably, is the producing work of drummer Butch Vig. Before joining Garbage, he produced Nirvana's Nevermind album and is currenty working with Dave Grohl on a documentary about the studio where the album was recorded.
