The Black Keys are confident that they will release a new album in 2013.  They recorded a little over the summer, but admit that their sessions weren't very focused.  But, drummer Patrick Carney says they have a plan to get it done:

“We’re going to start making a new album in January and we’re going to tour a little more in the spring. Our plan is the have the new album done by the end of spring or earlier, then hopefully take a few months off to do normal things...Then we’ll probably be back on the road starting next fall.”

The band's last album, El Camino, released in December of 2011.  It was the band's seventh studio album and third with producer Danger Mouse.  Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) is best known as half of Gnarls Barkley and is currently producing a new U2 album.
