The Charlotte Checkers would like to help Wheels for Forest raise money to purchase a new or gently-used wheelchair-accessible van for Forest Walton, and we (1065 THE END) is asking you to help!

Forest is a 15-year-old young man who was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at birth. He was able to walk, run and play until he was 12 years old, but due to this disease, he is no longer able to walk. His mother must take him everywhere in a wheelchair accessible van, and their current van is worn out, unsafe and literally falling apart around him.

The festivities will begin at 10:30 a.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena’s Trade St. Plaza and will include games, the Checkers Slap Shot inflatable and appearances by Chubby and the CheckMates.

It's time for the 7TH ANNUAL PINK IN THE RINK with THE CHARLOTTE CHECKERS on Saturday, February 25th against the Oklahoma City Barons.

PINK IN THE RINK will benefit Carolina Breast Friends, Susan G. Komen and Presbyterian Hospital's Buddy Kemp Cancer Support Center. The goal of the evening is to raise awareness and funds for the women's related cancers.

The team will wear specialty pink jerseys that will be auctioned post-game to benefit the above charities. Also, the first 2,500 women through the door, will receive pink Checkers beanies.

on Saturday April 7th - The Charlotte Checkers and the Charlotte Bobcats will host a duoble header.

The Charlotte Checkers will take on the Abbotsford Heat @ 12 pm and the Charlotte Bobcats will take on the Atlanta Hawks @ 8 pm.

The Charlotte Checkers game orginally scheduled for Friday, April 6th was moved to accommodate the rescheduling of the Red Hot Chili Peppers show.

Imagine you're face to face against one of the Charlotte Checkers toughest members. He makes one wrong move and you could be crowned KING of the CHECKERBOARD!

It's time for the inaugural CHECKERS WITH THE CHECKERS TOURNAMENT on Friday, January 13th @ Buffalo Wild Wing @ the NASCAR Hall of Fame @ 6 pm.

Fans will get the chance to play in a bracket-style Checkers tournament and against their favorite Checkers players.

Even if you don't want to play or know how, come and have fun. There will a silent auction, raffle prizes (check back soon for a list of prizes), games and appearances by 1065 The END personalities, Wilson, the CheckMates and Chubby.


Registration for the tournament will be $10, with 100 percent of the proceeds going to the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) through Hayden’s Hope, a local extension of the life-saving transplant non-profit organization.
