The Charlotte Checkers and the Norfolk Admirals will take part in the GEICO Challenge Cup duiring the 2011-12 season with eight matchups.
The series opens on Friday, Oct 7th @ Norfolk and finishes on Sunday, March 18th @ Charlotte.
In the 2010-11 Season, the Checkers met the Admirals twelve times and won seven games.

Opening night is set for Saturday, Oct. 15 and the first 3,500 fans will receive a 3’ x 5’ house flag, courtesy of Time Warner Cable. Magnet schedules will also be given out to the first 7,000 fans in attendance, courtesy of Presbyterian Hospital.
Back by popular demand are season-long promotions, such as Sunday Coke Family Four Packs (four tickets, four hot dogs and four Cokes for only $60, plus fees), Skate With the Team, presented by Extreme Ice Center and Wet Your Whistle Weekdays, which feature $3.50 12oz. Bud Light drafts.

The Charlotte Checkers and Husqvarna have teamed up to announce “15 Days of Giving,” a daily community service program within the Charlotte area from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15.
Throughout the 15-day program, the Checkers and Husqvarna will contribute to local non-profit organizations by volunteering time, making monetary donations and holding food and clothing drives, among other community service initiatives.
