With mixed emotions, I announce that today is my last S.H.A.T Report. I have been so lucky to work with such an amazing group of people who have helped me grow and develop the things I need for my career in this industry. I'm moving on to do things I have set out to do with an open mind, a positive attitude, and skills that have been graciously taught to me by these amazing guys! They will forever be my mentors and friends...... Now that my sad speech is over with ...here is this weekend's SHAT.

Thursday, head over to TWC Arena for the NASCAR Sprint Pit Crew Challenge at 7pm. it's $15 and up so head on out! The Whitewater River Jam starts back up for the summer at the US National Whitwater Center. It starts at 7pm with musical guest Overmountain Men, and it's FREE!

Friday LIVE at the Factory is this Friday with Cowboy Mouth from 6 to 11. Tickets are $5 in advance. Race weekends have officially started, and it starts with the NC Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The Charlotte School of Rock presents Monsters of Folk at the Visualite Theatre and after them is the Talking Heads Tribue, Same As it Ever Was. The show starts at 9:45 and is $8 in advance. 

Saturday is not ONLY the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race at the CMS, it's also the Blondes vs. Brunettes Powder Puff Game at Revolution Park from 12-4. Watch the girls rough-house as they raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. Check out Food Revolution Day/Race City Festival from 9 to 3pm in downtown Mooresville. Chef Troy of Fox News Rising will be hosting a local food tasting, and local farmers are donating locally grown/raised food that Chef Troy will prepare for the free tasting in the Motown Spice Provisions booth. Thrice is playing at the Fillmore with Animals as Leaders for $25.50 at 8pm. XTreme World Wrestling presents Blood, Sweat, and Tears from 1- 6:30pm.Come out and enjoy the best pro-wrestling in the Carolinas! Meet and greet with Barbarian Get an autograph! Admission is $8 advance/$10 day of show.  The Pretty Things Peep Show is at Neighborhood Theatre at 9pm. Tickets are $10. This is a unique blend of sexy circus sideshow stunts as well as burlesque and vaudeville acts in a new genre of entertainment called "BROADVILLE."

Sunday, Check out Sun Dried Vibes, Of Good Nature, and Treehouse at the the Chop Shop. Then,  The Charlotte School of Rock Presents The Chronicles of Pink Floyd at 1pm. Tickets are $10 at the door. Make sure you check them out on Saturday night.

I am STILL recovering after Carolina Rebellion weekend. What a killer time! 

THIS weekend...get back into the "swing" of things ...with the Charlotte Knights and the Toledo Mudhens at the Knights Stadium Thursday night. The game starts at 7:15 and ranges from $9 to $15.  The Charlotte School of Rock presents Women Who Rock at the Visulite Theatre from 6 to 8. They'll be covering songs from Janis Joplin The Kills, The Bangles, and more. These kids are GREAT. You should go support our young local musicians! The Heritage Hunter Tour starts at the Fillmore Charlotte at 7:30 pm with Opeth and Mastodon, and special guest Ghost. 

Friday, the All American Rejects are at the Fillmore with A Rocket to the Moon. Show starts at 8 and tickets are $33. Remember every Friday is Friday LIVE at the Factory. This week is LIT from 6-11pm. Tickets are $5. The Charlotte Knights take on the Buffalo Bisons at the Knights Stadium at 7:15pm. Tix are $9 to $15. DROP D (or Punching Spiders) are playing at Corner Pockets in Hickory. They go on at 10pm, but there's a corn hole tournament before and on Saturday too. Rock on! 

Saturday, The White Trash Tattoo's and Tequila Summer Kickoff Party is at Amos' at 8pm. Red White $ Crue, Poison'd, and With Black Illusion are playing, and the show starts at 8pm. The 2nd Annual NC Brewers and Music Festival is from 11am-10pm. Musical guests Steep Canyon Rangers, Ryan Montbleu Band, Larry Keel, Natural Bridge, The Black Lillies, Sol Driven Train, Old Man Markley, and Big Something. There will be food, merch, and more! The Beer Bourbon and BBQ Festival is ALSO this day at Symphony Park at Southpark frm 2 to 6. There's gonna be some "beer sippin, bourbon tastin, music listenin, cigar smokin, and barbeque eatin" fun. Your admission buys you a sampling glass so you can enjoy an ALL YOU CARE TO TASTE sampling of beer and bourbon. The Aerosmith tribute, Toys in the Attic, are playing at the Fillmore at 9. 

Sunday is MOTHER'S DAY....so spend some time wit yo mama!

Friday, Carolina Rebellion FINALLY begins at Rockingham
Speedway. We’ve all been waiting for it, and now it’s here. If you’re camping out, make sure you come to the camping party with Lez Zepplin, One, and Foxy Shazaam. Friday Live at the Factory also happens Friday night from 6-11. It’s only $5 in advance, and you can see bands such as Grown Up Avenger Stuff, Holy Ghost Tent Revival, and Benji Hughes. The NoDa Studio Crawl starts at 5pm, featuring more than 13 artist studios in the surrounding area of NoDa. You’ll need your car since all of the locations aren’t all in walking distance, but you’ll see paintings, sculptures, and live music, and it’s free! Now that the Avengers is out, go to the Avengers Premier Screening at AMC 22 Theatre for the beginning of the Summer Blockbuster Series. 7:30 to 11:30.

Saturday marks the official day of Carolina Rebellion. With the first band going on at 11am and the last band going on at 10:45pm, this is sure to be one heck of a good time. Remember to bring a water bottle, and DON’T pay for parking! There will be plenty of free parking close to the venue, so don’t let those parking scalpers fool you! Pet Palooza is happening at Independence Park Saturday morning, starting with the Kennelly 5k run, a 1k dog walk, refreshments, entertainment, and a vendor fair. The 2012 Charlotte Asian Festival and Dragon Boat Race is also going on at Ramsey Creek Park in Cornelius. The Country Showcase section has exhibits from India, Korea, Philippines, Japan, and China. There will also be henna tattoos, sari draping, Origami, souvenirs, and more! Mickey Avalon will be doin his thing with Andre Legacy and F. Dux at Tremont Music Hall at 7pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and
$18 at the door. This 5k may be more your style. The Tequila Trot 5k starts at 10am Saturday at Loco Lime. But you’re gonna be too busy at Carolina Rebellion…right?

Sunday brings a forecast of vinyl and fanta showers. The
Carolina Vinyl and CD Show is happening yet again at Tremont. Starting at noon, browse through thousands of collectable LPs, 45s, CDs, and DVDs. It’s only $3 to go. Last, but not least, the Fanta Festival starts from 11-7. LAC and Coca Cola teamed up to present a large and exciting Cinco de Mayo celebration.
