After Soundgarden broke up in 1997, drummer Matt Cameron was able to land a gig with another Seattle band, Pearl Jam.  When Soundgarden reunited in 2010, Cameron began splitting time between the grunge rockers.

Cameron's role with both bands, along with Temple of the Dog connections (that band featured Cameron along with the rest of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden front-man Chris Cornell), led to speculation that Soundgarden and Pearl Jam would tour together.  Cameron shot that down:

"We're not talking about it.  I don't think, at this stage in the game, I could personally, physically do that...but, there might be a one-off situation here down the road, since there is so much interest.  But, there will be definitely be separate tours for the near future."

Soundgarden will release their first album, King Animal, since 1996 in November.  The album features all of the members that were in the band at the time of their breakup.  Cameron says the band wanted to make sure everybody was on board, "We didn't want to have a situation where one guy was feeling forced to into that environment and you don't want to suck, too."

Soundgarden and Pearl Jam haven't announced any large North American tours, yet.  Soundgaren will likely tour in 2013 in support of King Animal.  But, Cameron isn't the only member of Pearl Jam busy with another band.  Eddie Vedder is going on a solo tour while Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard are playing shows with side-project bands.  But, Cameron says Pearl Jam is in the process of finishing their new album.  The band will play Lollapalooza in Brazil and Chile.
