Cage the Elephant, hours before delivering a raucous show to a packed Amos' Southend, stopped by the iHeartRadio Charlotte studios to play an acoustic mini-set.

The set is a departure from a Cage the Elephant concert.  Those shows feature the rambunctious antics of singer, Matthew Schultz, and the loud, electric music from the rest of the band.  It was fascinating to take this kind of energetic band and put them in such a relaxed environment.  The guys joked between songs and were gracious to the lucky fans that were able to see the band in such an intimate environment.

Cage the Elephant played Ain't No Rest for the Wicked from their debut, self-titled album and Shake me Down and Around my Head from their sophomore release, Thank You, Happy Birthday.  See photos here.

In 2007 MUTEMATH played a short green room set at 1065 The END.  Their song Typical was beginning to take off and the band had a ton of momentum going for them.  The darlings of New Orleans were in store for a successful wave of touring that solidified them as one of, if not the best, live bands on the circuit.  It was their first acoustic showcase and we were fortunate to have hosted.  Drummer Darren King jammed on a snare and guitar case that day and still managed to bring the same intensity he is now famous for.

MUTEMATH is known for making anything sound great; be it a busted up high-hat cymbal (see above),  a worn down kick drum, or even the stage itself (Bojangles' Arena). If you can mic it, they can play it. Their signature sound of "controlled chaos" sucks you in, bangs you around and tosses you out better than before.  This pared down 1065 The END IHeartRadio session in Charlotte on March 14, 2012 hinted at what they were to deliver later that night at Amos' Southend. Detroit rockers, Sponge, stopped by to perform an acoustic set in the iHeartRadio studio.  In addition to playing some classics, Vinny decided to perform a rare acoustic set of "Drownin'" off "Rotting Piñata."  Check them out now and let us know what you think!

The Constellations, hailing from Atlanta, have the distinction of being one of just a few bands lucky enough to grace the END Sessions stage on multiple occasions.  We were honored to have them back.  Listening to them is a true treat, because their choruses get stuck in your head, and lead-singer Elijah's voice hangs out like on old friend.

They've had songs featured on TV's Vampire Diaries and House, as well as the big screen comedy Horrible Bosses.

Southern Gothic, their 2010 debut album, features a guest spot from Cee-Lo, and judging by his Super Bowl appearance with Madonna, he's going places.

What I See and Felicia are tracks found on Southern Gothic, plus we got the treat of hearing a new track titled Side by Side.

Prior to the Not So Acoustic Xmas Warm-up at Amos', the guys from Middle Class Rut were kind enough to come by and tear up an END Session.  Even acoustically "New Low" is still a hard charging, boot stomping ride.  Comment below and let us know what you think.
