The End of Summer Weenie Roast became a tradition when The END signed on the air in 1995.  But in 2005, that tradition was put on the back burner.  This year we decided it was time to bring it back.

On Sunday, we brought 13 bands to Verizon Wireless Amphtheater.  The lineup displays the full repertoire of the eclectic nature of 1065 The END.  Our roots are in alternative rock and that can take us in many different directions.  The show was headlined by 90s alternative heavyweights The Offspring and another 90s alternative staple, Garbage, was on hand to perform.

The rest of the acts ranged from Celtic punk band Flogging Molly to the progressive metal of Coheed & Cambria.  There were alternative rock bands with Christian music roots in Switchfoot and Anberlin and we also included the wild antics of Foxy Shazam.

Canada was represented by Our Lady Peace and Evans Blue.  Eve 6 was one of several bands on the bill well known for their success in the mid to late 90s and are currently in the process of recapturing that glory.

Local music support has always been at staple at 1065 The END.  Paper Tongues put on a heck of a show, as they always do.  Our own DZL brought his band, Drop D.  Local Weenie winner Vess got it all started.

We have a ton of interviews and other stuff to share with you over the next few days.  Keep an eye out for everything.
